WaterWolf has become a noun, a verb and an adjective. It has come to represent
a way of doing business regionally, a planning body, a not for profit business
unit attached to the Regional Economic Development Authority and Community
Futures office, or a strange nickname for a Northern Pike. Of course it
is all of the above, and much more. It has become a regional round table
for 16 rural municipalities and 44 local governments in all. WaterWolf
has become a model for regional co-operation, and a drive to provide a
long term plan for the region, within which investors can find surety.
The WaterWolf group
is moving rapidly to become a regional planning commission with all
of the capacity and opportunity that comes to mind. A plan for the
future of our communities, a move to evidence based decision making,
and a solid foundation for growth. Is it a County in sheep’s
clothing? No. Is it a regional tool to provide capacity to it’s
members, regional cohesion, source water protection for the South Saskatchewan
River basin, and a well thought out and sustainable future for the
region? We hope so.
We are the centerpiece
for regional planning services, geographic information services (GIS),
website creation, hosting and management, GPS data gathering and management
to improve municipal planning, and a place to grow ideas for our economic
future.
If you are from our region, welcome to your site! If you are from somewhere
else, we feel bad for you. Either way, feel free to contact us for more information,
explanations, or just to say hello. Come back often – we are setting
the standard for regional planning and regional services in Saskatchewan and
we will not be standing still.
